Here

Here. We spend our lives searching for that elusive concept - a place to belong, a home, a site familiar and comforting, a space that we just be; here.

Yet life presses its cruel irony with the realisation that in that frenzied search, we lose that which we are searching for. We run, we rush, we seek, we search but we come to forget that which we were searching for. We lose quickly what we thought we've found; the fairy-tale of eternal bliss becomes a withering reality that bites.

Perhaps there is only the present, a here-ness of the moment which will dissipate and fade as existence is violently thrown in the forward motion of time. All things wither, all things fade, and all things pass. To recognise the moment of being here is all there is; and that is the only place of belonging.
