Portfolio

I was told listing out the tasks you need to accomplish would help ease the anxiety ... So I've decided to list down the number of Portfolios I'm holding in school at present, including the Special Projects I'm in-charge of, in the hopes of helping me see things clearly ...

1. CIVICS TUTOR OF IP CLASS 1C:
Perform the duties of a Civics Tutor - nurturing (ha!), emotional support (HAHA!), administration, Students' Report, Meet-the-parents (!!!), Civics lessons.

2. LANGUAGE ARTS TUTOR (3 CLASSES - 1A, 1C, 1E): Develop the curriculum for BOTH years (Year 1 and 2) [that needs to be creative and DIFFERENT!)] (although I'm NOT a Subject Head yet); develop tests and assessments, plan individual lessons, deliver lessons, review lessons, read and research primary and secondary texts (so as to have something to teach, and teach right!), attend weekly 3-hour meetings, mark scripts (aaarrrggghhhh!)

3. PROJECT WORK SUPERVISING TUTOR (1 CLASS of 6 GROUPS): Assist groups in deciding projects, deliver silly lessons on effectiveness and purpose of PW, mark individual pre-project assessment, mark group project proposal, assess project work files, evaluate group project report 3x, rehearse oral presentation, and god knows what else.

4. DRAMA: Get the Annual Production running (and that itself has a million tasks - publicity, ticketing, coordination, logistics, booking of rehearsal space, dealing with students (!), developing the overall vision of the play, directing the director, staying back twice every week till late after school, conceptualising the play for the Official Opening of the Black Box.

5. CLIMBING: Fulfill duties of Flying-Fox OIC, be present for trainings (at least once a week since there are 3 of us) till late - and open/close the school gate (!!), sacrifice part of holidays to go for overseas trips, sacrifice weekends to provide moral support for students taking part in competitions, monitoring state of the equipment, attend meetings and a million more unexpected duties that will always come about.

6. ADVENTURE RESILIENCE PROGRAMME: OIC for the rock-wall section of the Adventure Resilience Programme; will be on duty (till late again) twice every term for that.

7. OVERSEAS COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT PROJECT (SRI LANKA): Team leader for OCIP Matara, Sri Lanka to help rebuild Tsunami devasted areas. Publicise event, select team of 12 students through interviews, prepare students physically and mentally, fly to Sri Lanka for a recce two weeks from now, sacrifice 14 days in June, and perform a million other logistical tasks.

8. BLACK BOX: Take charge of the building of the drama black box (by June!!!) [thanks to some teacher who quit], call the designer and contractor, liaise with the lighting engineer, conceptualise the space of the black box, manipulate the budget, and ... plan an official opening (sigh ...)

9. TEMASEK ELECTIVE PROGRAMME: Plan, create and teach my elective "Science Fiction and Fantasy in Contemporary Society" in Terms 1 and 3; mark scripts (aarrggghhh!)

And these are just my official duties ...

Sigh ... it's not helping .... it's just making me more anxious.
