After my mid-year work 'review' with my 'superiors', Dr Yong's dictum rings in my head.
"You cannot seek validation from The System and those who purchase and subscribe to its beliefs for they share a different set of values from you. To them, you will always be a glitch in The System that needs to be corrected."
Listening to what they had to say about my 'areas for improvement', I cannot help but see the truth in her wisdom. I was told to make improvements to my socialibility (or the lack thereof) because it was part of the 'criteria' for a higher-ranked education officer ...
Upon hearing the reason, I recall the word 'ludicrous' dangling at the tip of my tongue, resounding loudly in my head ...
"Seek self-validation ..."
There is no greater value than that...
