This is goodbye then. To everyone who's shown such overwhelming concern. It takes someone's death or departure to trigger that sense of loss and appreciation in others. But thank you ... I would never have known if I weren't leaving.
No, I never wanted to be popular. I never saw myself as popular. But I do see how loved I am by good friends, students. Thank you for letting me know that I could be such a source of inspiration; to me it was just a passion and a desire. It means a great deal to me. Thank you for the honesty and sincerity. Many things have made me think more than twice about leaving teaching. But I have to ... for now.
It would be an ordinary Saturday for most people but to me it's life changing. And al life changing experiences are intimidating, sad, exhilirating, hopeful, painful and uncertain.
To everyone who cares, goodbye. For now.
