Expressions

And it is done ... like many other momentous events that have occurred this year.

The Mardi Gras is done. Superficially, it went really well. There was a good crowd; the performances ran well with the sight, sound, and colour. Everything was almost close to picture perfect.

But of course, being part of the organisation, I witnessed, not to mention having to grapple with, many foul-ups, bleeps, and blunders - many of which were due to the lack of communication between committee members and the lack of foresight. Poor information relay, unclear lines of job specifications and areas of responsibility, conflicting instructions, unncessary duplication of work, were just some of the things that thoroughly annoyed me.

But the kids who performed did a great job. I'm particularly proud of my drama kids and the rock band. They were great. Climbing kids did a marvellous job at raising funds. They were amazingly creative. Proud of them too.

Such a bad ... and stressful day ... not to mention it being LONG. Well, I'm glad it's done.

Time for the next 'big' thing.

Need to sleep ... desperately...
