'Too pooped to piss'

I learnt that expression when playing an old computer game of the Normandy invasion. It was an RPG game that was relatively real (i.e. slow and boring) with the gamer having to control a section of the 101st Airborne paratroopers across the planes of Normandy. Whenever the walked too much for too long, the 'grunts' would grunt "Too pooped to piss"!

Amazing how some things remain with you ... for life.

Looking at my last entry it's almost been a week. That pretty much sums up how held down with work I've been. One more day to the Mardi Gras - I would be so glad when it's all over. Call it poor organisation, mismanagement, stress, tension or whatsoever, I had a tiff with Bliss yesterday. Everything seemed to still be in chaos and I'm in the dark about so many things yet ironically am part of the main organising committee. Well ... whatever. As Geok Choo moans "SIAN". I've done my part and will do it well tomorrow. I can only hope the event turns out for the better tomorrow. I only know I hate to work for an event without seeing the 'full' picture.

Once that is done, I await to troop back to camp (no pun intended) and that would be a much relished break from work and school although I do regret, sorely, that I wouldn't be able to scale Ophir with the Climbing kids and Betty this year. Sigh ... I was actually much looking forward to that and had requested for early out-processing but that didn't quite work out. Goddamn reservist - a paradox of blessings and curses! Shucks.

And because of that goddamn service to the country, I'll have to start planning and preparing my lessons for whosoever will take over my classes the next two weeks. Damn. And I haven't even finished this week's work yet! There is a video screening next week for which I am doing but have yet to prepare the notes! AAARRRGGGHHHHH. Need to do that tonight! And not forgetting the pile of marking on my table that is increasingly gaining in height - it's like watching a child grow at an instant!

But I'll be glad when Reservist is done. At least I can then concentrate on the SYF, annual production and my teaching (which are burdens enough!). UUUGGGHHHH ... tired ... literally. Haven't exercised or been to the gym since Sunday! And this has been the first day I've returned home before 6 in about 3-4 weeks!

I had a chat with the kids. I'm glad I did but I realised I left out quite a few things I had originally intended to bring up. Oh well, it will surface again I guess. I now await to see the effects of the (yet another) pep talk.
